After I sold my PC, I was thinking about shutting down SNP. However, that isn’t the case and I am here with you, stronger than ever :) Here is something that came from what could’ve been the end of SNP:

The Pie is a Lie

HL2DM: The Truth

Category: Blogallan @ 12:15 am

Yeah, that’s right, the old Super Naked Party boys used to play HL2DM! It isn’t currently one of our main games, but it really is a great game.

Not everyone may know this, but we played the mIKe’s ReVeNGe (mR) servers. I cannot fully explain the creativity and enjoyment of this game, but I think they can. www.mikes-revenge.com

This will bring back old memories for the older SNP boys. Remember the Octagon fort? This fort consisted of support02s and blastdoor3s to create a 3-story, octagonal base. We had 3 builders and 2 cops guarding us to protect us from wandering noobs.

I was introduced to mR by the one and only, Miller. I remember, he told me that you can build your own forts. I thought this was a lame idea, until I actually got to play it!

A new part of mR that some may not know, they have introduced scripting. This allows players to use ents (AKA Cheats) This has changed mR in a whole new way. Soon players from around the world are all creating their own scripts like trails, explosions, holograms, glows, strobe lights, fireworks, fireballs, and much, much more! The good-old mIKe has added a creative twist to mR.

But, on one glorious October 10, 2007, Team Fortress 2 had been released, and all interest in mR had been lost. For 2 more years, most of SNP had been enjoying TF2.

Then, one bored, sleep-deprived Allan, re-visited the mR servers at 4 am at a private LAN party. Amazed by the new improvements, less crashes, new features, and new scritps, I have been re-addicted to the classic mod.

I highly recommend this mod and game to gamers of all ages. It is quite simple to play and c’mon guys, it is $4.99! If you don’t have 5 dollars I don’t know why you can afford the computer you are reading this off of. Even if you don’t like the concept of mR, HL2DM is a very creative, fun game!

Any gamers that already have HL2DM, come try out mR. These are the following IP address’ for the mR servers:

Season 3 Brainstorm

Category: BlogJay Miller @ 11:30 am

Here comes Santa Claus

Here comes Santa Claus

It’s officially half-time in our event season, so I decided to drop a brainstorm for new events for season three. For a recap, we’ve had a total of a dozen LAN parties, one trip to Montreal, a movie night, and in a couple of days from now our first house party on New Year’s Eve. After this house party, we’ll be holding two more private LAN parties, our public LAN party, and a paintball game at Ground Zero.

What else is planned so far? 2010 is the year destined for our secret 500 person LAN party project at the K-Rock Centre. Leading up to that, we’ll surely host some smaller public LAN parties. We’ll also have a variety of new venues, hosts, & guests — a steadily growing number of guests will be attending our events with a growing community. The LAN parties have all been a success up to this point and our new variety of events are awesome so far. I’ll stop yapping and throw some ideas out on the board — new events we could hold in season 3:

  • Bowling
  • School Trip to Arcadia (Montreal)
  • Fight Club
  • Kingston Family Fun World
  • Camping in Algonquin
  • Toronto gaming event trip
  • Battle of the Rock Bands (with K-Rock Radio Station)
  • Wonderland trip
Christmas Eve: Santa or Nothing!

Christmas Showdown: Santa or Nothing!

I’m hoping to talk to fellow SNP-goers at the New Year’s Eve party in two weeks about the future of the second and third season. Happy Holidays!
